This 8-hour training is intended to be an introduction to coaching skills for managers, teachers, and other professionals who want to learn tools related to motivation and performance.

(A1) Introduction to Performance Coaching -- Saturday, May 30th  
In this session, participants will learn to define coaching and recognize its professional boundaries. We will focus especially on setting sophisticated agendas, powerful listening skills, and asking provocative questions. There will be demonstrations, discussion, and opportunities for practice. 


(A2) Responsible and Effective Coaching-- Sunday, May 31st
In this session, participants will learn about the ethical foundations of coaching as well as tools for understanding and harnessing emotion as it relates to motivation. 






Dr. Robert Diener, Professor of Psychology and Coach, is widely known as the “Indiana Jones of Positive Psychology” because his research on happiness has taken him to such far-flung places as Greenland, India, Kenya and Israel. He is a positive psychologist, certified mental coach, researcher, managing director of Positive Acorn as well as modular leader at The School of Positive Psychology. He regularly conducts workshops and keynote lectures for multi-national corporations, and his coaching practice typically has a three-month waiting list.
